In vitro screen

Screen compound against chemo-resistant cells in vitro

ChemoScreen can evaluate your compound for activity on proliferating chemo-resistant tumor cell lines in 2D culture. Most useful information is gained from comparing the compound's activity on both chemo-resistant cells and the parental cells from which the resistant cells were derived (see platemap figure example below). Included in each test of compound is a control to demonstrate that the IC50 of the chemo-resistant cells is greater (i.e. less sensitive) than parental cells to the drug used to generate resistance (upper panel). A compound that exhibits similar IC50s on the parental and chemo-resistant cells would suggest that its inhibitory activity was unaffected by the molecular change(s) associated with acquired resistance.
